How did I come across the book?

It was a gift to me from my sister for Christmas.

What did I think?

Well, once I got into the story properly of this book (which for me took a while) it was good. This magical plot with faeries is not my usual cup of tea. Towards the end I was filled with questions; Who is loyal to her? What are those creatures? Will he survive? It was quite intriguing. What really had me interested was that fact among the magic and the craziness there was a romance. One of those forbidden, kinda dark romances. A romance with a jealous but friendly onlooker. It was the slow kind of teenager love which is in most books with the mere mention of his name making her blush.. This contrasting the fast-paced plot (which introduced new characters, creatures and setting like there's no tomorrow) worked quite well.

The narrative I give this book another 2 out of 5, not just because it was magical, but because it was very fast and so to me it should have been slower so the readers could understand the land and world being portrayed.
For the characters I give it a 2 stars out of 5 again. I never really felt 'connected' to the characters, for example I wouldn't mind a character dying just because then I can see it's affect on the story.
For the Literature I give this book a 3 out of 5, it was written well in my opinion with description being unpredictable and interesting.
Overall, I give this book a 3 out of 5. It wasn't awful, but not amazing either really in my opinion because it didn't have me 'hooked' and in that mode where everything I do or anything I say will relate back to the book, where I would constantly be wondering how the characters will get out of the situation they're in.
