How did I come across the book?

I found it's prequel in the library and bought this book online.

What did I think?

I really do love and enjoy this book series! It showed me a way into the processes of a helpless boy becoming a dictator, a girl in love becoming a girl filled with hate and a strong willed guy giving up. I think that that's the why I truly enjoyed it because unlike any other it showed how awful it can get for these poor teenagers who are made into leaders and how they loose their morals. Whereas in other dystopia YA books we never see how people can make such dreadful mistakes and actually feel good about it.
I believe that this plot is quite original, certainly unlike anything I've read before, this meant it was fairly unpredictable.
I'd say the down-side to this story would be there was little good things to happen to the characters; Amy Kathleen-Ryan seemed to just pile on the unfortunate events with no feel of relief for us readers.
